Members of the Linguistics and Language Arts Club were joined by MA and PhD students for a two-hour-long workshop on the features and intricacies of scientific writing.
The two professors presented an overview of a standard academic paper, after which they proceeded to an in-depth analysis of all the individual parts. Through abstract writing to reference listing, the assembled students had a chance to explore the entirety of the paper writing process. Thus, the students learned which tense to use in writing, how to write a proper abstract, how to cite and paraphrase sources, what every conclusion needs to have, and much more.
This workshop is one in a series of events that the Linguistics and Language Arts Club is organizing this fall. For more information contact the Club communication officer via email [email protected]
