As part of the Helem Nejse Talent Academy, a seven-day summer school focused on creative industries in Sarajevo, the Department of Electrical Engineering at International Burch University (IBU) organised two significant lectures for the academy participants. Lecture 1: Artificial Intelligence (AI): Current State and Future Trends with Examples

The speaker, Prof. Dr. Jasmin Kevric, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Natural and Medical Sciences, provided a detailed explanation of how artificial intelligence can be used to analyse EEG signals in brain-computer interfaces, as well as to improve network security. The lecture concluded with a review of future trends in AI within the field of electrical engineering, including a potential workshop where students had the opportunity to experiment with AI platforms.
Lecture 2: Entrepreneurial Stories from the IBU Startup Incubator with Emphasis on Manufacturing and R&D – Is There Room for AI?
The second lecture, also lasting two hours, focused on successful stories from the IBU startup incubator, with a special emphasis on manufacturing, research, and development (R&D). Prof. Dr. Jasmin Kevric presented how startups have utilised artificial intelligence (AI) to gain a competitive edge. Real-life examples from the industry and challenges of AI integration were showcased, providing attendees with insights into the potential role of AI in future entrepreneurial ventures.
