Students from the Department of Digital Communications and Public Relations (DCPR) at the International Burch University (IBU) visited Europe House in Sarajevo, gaining firsthand insight into the European Union’s communication and public diplomacy efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The visit, organized by Prof. Asim Šahinpašić, offered students an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and engage directly with communication practitioners. Team members of Europe House, Mr. Edin Atlić and Ms. Lamija Hasanefendić, talked to students about history and the broader development of the European Union. They shared with students valuable practical insights and real-world perspectives about EU public diplomacy and the communication of EU programs and initiatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through an interactive presentation and discussion, students learned how EU programs and initiatives are communicated to the public, with a particular focus on transparency, engagement, and the role of digital platforms in shaping public perception. For many students, the visit provided a valuable bridge between theory and practice, illustrating how concepts studied in digital communications and public relations are applied in real institutional contexts.
The study visit forms part of IBU’s broader efforts to connect students with professionals and institutions, preparing them for the challenges of an increasingly dynamic and global communication environment.
