International Burch University (IBU) is thrilled to announce the initiation of cooperation agreements with sports clubs in Ilidža Municipality. This partnership underscores the University’s steadfast commitment to nurturing young talents and ensuring a harmonious balance between education and sports.
At the signing ceremony, the Rector of International Burch University, Prof. Dr. Mersid Poturak, expressed his satisfaction with the new partnerships: “We perceive the sports clubs of Ilidža Municipality as our valued friends and partners. It is of utmost importance to me, as a Rector, to enable young people to engage in both sports and studies.”
Prof. Dr. Poturak further discussed the collaboration's significance, highlighting that it exemplifies the University’s dedication to fostering a symbiotic relationship between education and sports. The partnership is set to unveil new opportunities for the youth, facilitating their holistic development while enriching their educational journey.
Representatives from the clubs OK Ilidža, Mr. Emir Memić, KK Igman Burch, Mr. Dževad Šipka, and FK Famos, Mr. Haris Šaran, highlighted the significance of this partnership and expressed gratitude for the support that International Burch University offers to local sports communities. They reflected on the achievements and ambitions of their respective clubs.
Mr. Dževad Šipka, representing KK Igman Burch, particularly emphasised the junior selection as the most promising generation to emerge in BiH.
Mr. Emir Memić, president of OK Ilidža, whose men's volleyball club boasts 165 members, underscored: “They are all excellent students with high goals for the future.” The women’s club also harbours ambitious plans to enter the super league and compete in national competitions.
Mr. Haris Šaran, of FK Famos, a historically stable second-league player, aspires to enter the Federation League. A new stadium, meeting European standards, is under construction in Hrasnica. "This is the beginning, and we hope that the cooperation will continue to develop and follow a successful path," stated the representative of FK Famos.
Prof. Dr. Poturak expressed delight for the mutual cooperation with the sports clubs of Ilidza municipality. "We aim to promote sports in Ilidža Municipality and in the broader community. International Burch University welcomes any form of collaboration and joint success with sports clubs."
This partnership reflects IBU’s dedication to promoting both sports and education and encouraging young talents to stay and develop in BiH.
